Marion H. Humphrey

Marion H. Humphrey, age 84 of Booneville, died January 13 in the Booneville city Hospital. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, LaVona Mae of the home; and five daughters, Mrs. Alta Hays of Belleville, Mrs. Pearl McBride of Burbank, Calif, Mrs. Marie Moore of Calusa, Calif, and Mrs. Haskel Wright and Mrs. Avas Hanna of Booneville; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren.

Services were Wednesday in the Free Will Baptist Church in Booneville, with Bro. Henry Brown and Bro. Herbert Rogers officiating.

Alice Naomia Humphreys

Alice Naomia Humphreys, aged 56, of Kansas City, Mo., died at a Kansas City hospital after a long illness. She was a member of the Bales Baptist Church in Kansas City.

Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Maud Smith Hunnicutt of Gravelly; one son, Willie Reuben of the home, one daughter, Mrs. Annie Maud Hayes of Birmingham, Ala.; five brothers, Ralph Hunnicutt of Oklahoma; Owen Hunnicutt of Utah; Leo Hunnicutt of California; Wayne and Bruce of Kansas City; four sisters, Mrs. Vivian Watkins of Oklahoma, Mrs. Myrtle Duvall of Missouri, Mrs. Pearl Fowler of Gravelly, Mrs. Lois Douthit of Russellville; and two grandsons.

Funeral services were held August 26 at the Baptist Church with Rev. T.F. Cooper officiating. Burial was in Rover Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Walter Kirkpatrick, Orvil Boren, Albert Peck, Roscoe Hogan, Monroe Brown and W.T. Pugh.

Lurlene Delphia Humphreys

Lurlene Delphia Humphreys, age 87, of Hollis passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Arkansas Hospice in Hot Springs.

Lurlene was born July 12, 1927, in Sapulpa, OK. to the late Lester Wallace & Ruby Jones Wilson. She was a member of the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church. She was a poultry farmer.

Preceded in death by her husband, James O "Bob" Humphreys and sister, Ima Jean Wilson.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol & Art Pye of Hollis; son, Ben Humphreys of Hollis; sister, Loretta Davenport of Lompoc, CA; grandchildren, Christyl & Chris Rowland of Benton; Matthew & Heidi Pye of Jesseville; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Aleena Rowland; Hunter, Nicholas and Madilyn Pye.

Funeral service was held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 at the Jesus Name Pentecostal Church in Hollis with Bro. Rick Humphreys officiating. Burial will be at Nooner Cemetery. Visitation was 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Avery of Lawton, Okla.; three brothers, Lee of Waldron, Zack of Dermont and Jess of MeGeehee; and ten grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Missionary Baptist Church in Danville by Rev. McElroy Saturday and burial was in the Point Lookout Cemetery.

Castleberry of Danville, Mrs. Pete Scott and Mrs. Thed Pickens of New Mexico; one brother, Reuben Humphrey of Rover; two sisters, Mrs. Lou Densmore and Mrs. Effie Gladden of Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday at the First Baptist Church at Danville and burial was at the Rover Cemetery.

Funeral was Monday at Cornwell Funeral Chapel in Dardanelle by Rev. Jimmy short. Burial was at New Hope Cemetery.

Mrs. Bobby Hunnicutt

Mrs. Bobby Sue Hunnicutt 33, of Moorpark, Calif., died during childbirth at a Ventura hospital on December 22. The infant, a boy, died two days later. Mrs. Hunnicutt, a native of Danville, had lived in Ventura County for the past 27 years.

She is survived by her husband, James; a son, Jimmy, and a daughter, Terry, of the home; her mother, Mrs. Audie Templeman of Havana; two brothers, Bill Templeman of Moorepark and Thurman Templeman of Havana; four sisters, Mrs. Helen Foster of Havana and Mrs. Salley Hilton, Mrs. Melba Hodges and Mrs. Willa Withington, all of Moorpark.

Funeral services were held at the Moorpark Community Methodist Church with burial in Ivy Lawn Cemetery.

Bruce Larmar Hunnicutt


Bruce Larmar Hunnicutt, 72, of Gravelly dies Sunday, Nov. 18, at St. Edwards Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.

He was born Oct. 10, 1930, at Gravelly, he was the youngest of 14 children to the late William C. "Will" and Maude Pearl Smith Hunnicutt. He was a poultry and cattle farmer, and retired from General Motors Corporation. He was a member of the Nola Church of Christ and the Gravelly Rural Fire Department. He was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nell Harberson Hunnicutt; a son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Pamela Hunnicutt of Gravelly; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Ron Sayre of Shawnee, Kan.; two granddaughters, Randi Hunnicutt of Waldron and Kaitlin Hunnicutt of Gravelly; four grandsons, Shawn Eric and Aaron Green of Gravelly, Stephen and Mike Sayre of Shawnee, Kan.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leo and Bobbi Hunnicutt of Danville and Wayne and Rosetta Hunnicutt of Harvey; two sisters, Myrtle Hunnicutt Duvall of Albany, Mo., and Lois Hunnicutt Douthit of Carlisle; and a mother-in-law, Wilma Haberson of Waldron.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Nola Church of Christ with Brother Leonard Fuson officiating. Burial will be in the Young Gravelly Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville.

Pallbearers will be Shawn, Eric and Aaron Green, Stephen and Mike Sayre and Mark Wagner.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
