George Ferguson


George A. Ferguson, of Tulsa, OK (formerly of Gravelly, AR) died November 18, 1988.

Services were held at Leonard Methodist Church, Leonard, OK Monday, November 21, 1988 with Ed Bateman officiating. Interment was at Bixby Cemetery, Bixby, OK.

Those attending services were Dora Ferguson and Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ferguson of Bluffton, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Oliver of Little Rock, S. A. Ferguson of Pine Bluff, Claudie Blagg and son Brezint of Dumas and Mr. and Mrs. 0. A. Mabry of Chula.

George Ferguson

George Ronald Ferguson, aged 26, died of a heart attack at his home in Leonard, Okla. April 24. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University and was employed as an engineer for the Public Service Co. in Tulsa. He was a member of the Leonard Methodist Church.

Kenneth Ferguson

Kenneth Reed Ferguson went to be with his Lord June 24, 2011 at his residence in Ponca City, OK. Affectionately called "Big Kenny" or "Fergie" by family and friends he loved to testify, play guitar and sing of the faithfulness of God. He enjoyed travel, movies, museums, and a good meal with those he loved. He enjoyed life and loved to laugh at a good joke.

Kenneth was born the youngest of eight siblings to William Samuel and Hazel Carpenter Ferguson in Dumas, TX, May 21, 1949. He was 64 years young or as he laughably put it "39."

Kenneth attended grade school in Dumas, TX Jr. High and High School in Ola, AR where he played basketball from 1964-1969. He received a medical discharge from the Navy after serving from 1968- 1969.

Kenneth married twice with both ending in divorce. He has two daughters and five grandchildren. Ken held a college degree in business administration working in construction and the oil field. He loved horses and everything that has to do with cowboy life. Ken was on the worship team at Word of Life Christian Center where he played bass guitar. He also attended Cowboy Church and Bro. Mikes gospel Jubilee all in Ponca City, OK.

Kenneth is survived by his sister, Rita and Bob Junk of Kaw City, OK; brother, Cecil and Susie Ferguson of Pampa, TX; sister, Rennie and Roger Minnich of St. Mary, OH; sister, Louella Packebush of Dumas, TX; brother, Jerry and Carolyn Ferguson of Dumas, TX; sister, Patricia Ann Summit of Ola, AR; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including Kaye McCauley.

Kenneth was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Sam Ferguson who died in infancy; his parents; and two brothers-in- law. The family can be reached at 470-489-5046.

The family gathering will be Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Cornwell Funeral Home in Danville from 6-8 p.m. No graveside service is planned. In lieu of flowers the family would like for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.

It was Ken's strong desire that everyone he came in contact with make Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. For all who loved him, he will be greatly missed.

Lester Bland Ferguson


Lester Bland Ferguson, age 64 of Bluffton, died at a Russellville hospital August 2nd. He was a farmer, a Master Mason and a member of the Bluffton Masonic Lodge. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dora Carpenter Ferguson; two sons, S.A. Ferguson of Pine Bluff and Billy Carl Ferguson of Bluffton; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Alice Wolfe of Little Rock and Mrs. Betty Oliver of Helena; one brother, George Ferguson of Leonard, OK., four sisters, Mrs. Lou Findley of Santa Barbara, CA., Mrs. Velma Willis of Leonard, OK., Mrs. Gladys Ferguson of Bluffton and Mrs. Clela Louvete of Santa Barbara, CA.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral Services were at the Bluffton Baptist Church August 4th.

Louise Ferguson

Louise Rose Sawrie Ferguson, age 88, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Dardanelle Nursing Center.

She was born June 12, 1925 at Dardanelle to the late Marvin Allen and Elsie Amy Prochazka Sawrie. She loved playing Bingo, vacationing and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers and sisters, Richard Sawrie, Dorothy Kimery, Melba Richards, James Sawrie, Edward Sawrie, Alvonelle Marsh, Alene Sawrie, Glen Sawrie.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Lou Ferguson Olson of Dardanelle; one sister-in-law, Joan Sawrie-Kizer; one granddaughter, Olivia Victoria Tilley.

Graveside services was held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 1, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hot Springs with Jim Freeman officiating.

William S. Ferguson, 72, of Ola, died at the Yell County Hospital June 20. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hazel Ferguson of the home; three sons, Cecil of Borger, Tex., Jerry of Dumas, Tex., and Kenneth of the home; five daughters, Mrs. Florence Harp of Illinois, Mrs. Rita Junk of Florida, Mrs. Florene Mimmick ol New York, Mrs. Lou Ella Packebush of Texas and Mrs. Ann Summit of Gould; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Ola Baptist Church with burial by Cornwell Funeral Service.

Robert Leroy Ferrin

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon, April 8, at the Knott Funeral Chapel, David City, for Robert Leroy Ferrin, 61, Rising City, who died April 7 at the David City Hospital.

Officiating was Bishop Ernest Dension, Lincoln. The body was taken to Jackson, Wyoming for burial.

Ferrin, the son of Josiah D. and Emiline Heninger Ferrin, was born Jan. 29, 1903, at Jackson, Wyoming, where he grew to manhood. His parents were among Wyoming's prominent Mormon pioneer families, and he was born on the family's old ranch at the mouth of Curtis Canyon.

On Nov. 28, 1926, he was married to Ida Elizabeth Davison.

Ferrin began his ranching career in the Jackson Hole country where he assisted in the management of his father's extensive holdings.

He was one of the first to irrigate successfully in the Missouri valley. He and Mrs. Ferrin continued their agriculural expansion in land and livestock until the 1950's when they disposed of their holdings and moved into the town of Riverton.

The last two years of his life were spent on his son-in-law's Rising City farm where he directed the transfer of his daughter's ranch holdings from Wyoming to Nebraska.

Surviving him are his wife Ida; two children, Mrs. Leo McGowen, Ulysses and Charles R. Ferrin, Tulsa, Okla; three grandchildren; stepmother Mrs. Josiah Ferrin, Jackson, Wyo.; five brothers, Leonard Ferrin, Glenwood Springs, Colo., Harvey Ferrin, Redding, Calif., Harold Ferrin, Meyers, Calif., and Howard and Merritt Ferrin, Jackson, Wyo.; and four sisters, Mrs. Harold Hark, Jackson, Wyo., Mrs. Gerald Burright, Princeton, Calif., Mrs. Russell Aiman, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Mrs. John Francis, Casper, Wyoming.

His parents, one sister and three brothers preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Uler Few, one foster son, James Leon Langston of Kearns, Utah.
