Claude E. Coates
Claude E. Coates, age 86, of Ola died Thursday, June 8, at a Danville nursing home. Mr. Coates was a retired farmer. He was a native of Southview, a son of the late Ezekiel and Judy Tanner Coates. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services were held at the Casa Church of Christ Saturday afternoon by Minister LeRoy Alexander. Burial was at Birta Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service.

Walter Lee Coates
Walter Lee Coates, aged 78, a retired farmer, died at his home at Casa Monday. He was a native of Casa and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bertha Mae Crawford Coates; one son, Harvey Coates of Missouri; two daughters, Mrs. Lemoyne Biggs of Little Rock and Mrs. Hollis Tippitt, Ola; two brothers, Claude Coates of Danville Rest Home and Bill Coates of Casa; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer Alexander of Grady, Mrs. Allie Robinson of Casa and Mrs. Johnny Scoles of Sherrill; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Church of Christ at Casa Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. with Church of Christ ministers Ray Hupp and Louis Stephen officiating. Interment was in Casa Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service.

Harrod Maurice Cobb age 80 of Ola died Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center. He was born May 18, 1931 at Belleville to the late Eugene Jerrod and Hazel Harrod Cobb. Graduated Ola High School in 1949 as Valedictorian. Graduated from U of A College of Pharmacy in 1953. Served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1955. After discharge he worked retail pharmacies in Morrilton, Conway and Pine Bluff. He went to work in 1958 for Parke-Davis Drug Co. as a Sales representative calling on physicians, pharmacies and hospitals. He returned to Ola with Cobb Drug Store in 1971. He later took over the business and purchased the pharmacy from his father. He ran his business, working daily until he fell ill late in 2011. He was a member of the Ola United Methodist Church. He was a member of NARD/NCPA, The Arkansas Pharmacists Association and received the 50 year Gold Certificate in 2005 from the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy. He participated in various local school programs and other civic organizations. He supported U.S. servicemen and Veteran's organizations. Dad was a sportsman and athlete. He enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and was a loyal razorback fan. As a member of the Oaklawn Jockey Club he owned horses, won a few races and loved going to the race meet. He was also an honorary member of the Frontier Social Club. He will be terribly missed by family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gene Lee Cobb.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Louise Bostick Cobb of Ola; two children, Donald M. Cobb and wife Donna of Hot Springs, William John Cobb and wife Sherry of Russellville; three sisters-in-law, Patti Cobb of Washington State, Glenda Manbeck of Pennsylvania, Sue Duvall of Pottsville; five grandchildren, Shannon Rose and husband Brandon of Dardanelle, McKinna Wilsey of Hot Springs, Brecken Ermer and husband Jesse of North Dakota, Shannon Rinke of Benton and Kara Rinke of Bryant; five great grandchildren, Lexy Rose, Zane Rose both of Dardanelle, Taten Wilsey of Hot Springs, Jaxon Ermer and Isabella Ermer both of North Dakota;
one niece, Marilee Callister of Austrailia; one nephew, Robert Eugene Cobb of California.
Funeral services will be held 2:00P.m., Friday, January 27, 2012 at the Ola United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Mullens officiating. Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery in Ola. Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle.

Mrs. Ollie Josephine Cobb, age 79 of Belleville, widow of Clyde Henry Cobb, died Tuesday at a Danville hospital.
She was a native of Yell County and a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Eugene Cobb of Ola; a daughter, Mrs. Sidney McClure of Shreveport; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral will be today at 2:30 p.m. at the Belleville Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the Upper Spring Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Benjiman F. Cocherell
Funeral services were held at Waveland, Wednesday, for Benjiman Franklin Cocherell, 72, who died suddenly at his home near Waveland, Tuesday morning.
He is survived by his son, Marion Cocherell, West Helena, two sisters, Mrs. Alice Boone, Ft. Smith, and Mrs. Ellen Rupe, Muskogee, Oklahoma, a step daughter, Ethel Pike, Booneville, a step-son, Jim Gatlin, Waveland.
Mr. Cocherell has lived in Yell County for over 30 years, was a member of the Baptist Church and Rev. Othar Smith, Danville, conducted the services.
Burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery.

Leonard Bruce Cockburn
SPRINGFIELD - The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Springfield Memorial Gardens for Lenard Bruce Cockburn of Springfield, who died Aug. 12 of a heart attack at age 80.
He was born Sept. 4, 1925, in Nola, Ark., to Charley and Beulah Oller Cockburn. He married Flindy Hunt on Dec. 25, 1951, in Waldron, Ark. He owned Lenard Cockburn Trucking for five years and was a truck delivery driver for Weyerhaeuser Co. for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tom of Bend and Chuck of Sunriver; two daughters, Lenette Bultene of Salem and M.L. Morgan of Pryor, Ark.; a sister, Corrine White of Tulsa, Okla.; three brothers, Roy of Harvey, Ark., C.L. of Mesa, Ariz., and Winston of Little Rock, Ark.; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A reception will follow the funeral at Ebbert Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Springfield Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots.

Edward L. Coffey
Edward L. Coffey, age 78, of Camarillo, (California) died Sunday Dec. 12, 1999.
He was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Yell County Arkansas, the son of Seth and Cleo Coffey. He was raised on a farm and was mobilized with the Arkansas National Guard during WWII, following graduation from Dardanelle High School. He served 21 years in the U.S. Army and after retirement, worked 24 years with TI Corp. He was devoted to his family and served in various capacities in the churches he attended. He eventually became an avid golfer.
He was preceded in death by John H. Coffey son; Jack Coffey brother; Lavada Benefield sister; and George Coffey brother.
He is survived by Jewel (Judy) Coffey his spouse for 55 years; Edward L. Coffey Jr., son, of Huntsville Texas; Adaline McCurdy, sister, of Dardanelle Ark.; Mae Jones, sister, of Burlington Okla.; Betty Jean Scott, sister, of Dardanelle Ark.; Polly Merritt, sister, of Dardanelle Ark; Jim Coffey, brother, of Dardanelle Ark.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 15 1999 at the Conejo Mountain Funeral Home, Chapel of the Islands. Burial will follow with Pastor James Hermeling from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Camarillo, officiating.
