Harry Blalock

Harry Franklin Blalock, age 58 of Ola died Sunday at his home. He was an insurance agent, a native of Pope County and a Methodist.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pauling Seth of Fort Smith and Mrs. Bill McAlister of Russellville; two brothers, Jack Blalock of London and Newt Blalock of Ola; two sisters, Mrs. Lilly Grain and Mrs. Maude Ruble, both of London; and several grandchildren.

Funeral services were held January 7 at the London Methodist Church.

Muriel Blalock

Muriel Dean Blalock, 83, of Plainview, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. The daughter of Henry and Polly Jane Hawkins Stout, she was bom December 28, 1934 in Briggsville, AR. She was a graduate of Arkansas Tech University. She married Harold D. Blalock, on April 8, 1955 at Ola. She was a Teacher. Muriel's accomplishments included teaching in several area schools in Yell and Pope County, obtaining her Master's Degree in Counseling. She was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, she oversaw the Plainview Community Library, Arkansas Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she taught the same Sunday School Class for 20 years. She enjoyed reading, working with her community with various events.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Raymond Stout.

Muriel is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold Blalock; a sister, Mary Lea Rice, two nieces, Susie Bird (Charlie); Ramona Oates (Thomas); a great nephew, James Oates; a sister-in-law, Betty Stout and numerous close friends.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, November 9, 2018 at First Baptist Church. Bro. Scott Miller and Bro. Johnny Upchurch will officiate.

Burial will be at Salem Cemetery in Plainview, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, on Friday, at the church.

Barbara Jean Bland

Barbara Jean Bland, 59 of Booneville was born July 16, 1958 to Harland and Barbara Young. Passed away May 6, 2018, in Fort Smith. She worked as a nutritionist before her retirement. She loved to yard sale and work in her flower garden.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Bland Sr.; father, Eugene Young.

Memorial Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Moores Chapel Church in Waveland.

She is survived by her sons, Trai Bland of Booneville and Donnie Bland Jr. of Havana; mother, Barbara Sue Young; sisters, Debbie Rohde and Michelle Young both of Havana; four grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Clarence Bland

Clarence Odell "Peanut" Bland, 89, passed away Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018, at home. He was born July 10, 1929, in Belleville, He served in the United States Army.

Peanut retired after 46 years from Wayne Farms. He was a deacon for over 60 years at Wilson Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyd and Luna Bland, and many loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Moody Bland; sons, Bryan and Joannie Bland; Bruce and Tammy Bland; Greg and Sherry Bland; grandchildren, Brandy and James Humphrey; Bradley and Kristen Bland; Brittany Siegeler; Buffy and Joe Terrell; Brett Bland; Brianne and Dalton Morris; Braden Bland; Blake Bland; great-grandchildren, Max and Makenzie Humphrey; Ella Bland; Brylee, Landry, and Easton Siegeler; Asher and Lincoln Terrell; Dani Morris.

Service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, at Havana Church of Christ.

Dennis Dale Bland

Dennis Dale Bland, 64, died Monday, June 17, 2013 at Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale, Texas. He was born March 11, 1949 in Bentonville, Arkansas to Dorman Arthur and Ruth Vaughan Bland. He was preceded in death by his father Dorman Bland and a brother, Michael Bland.

Dennis graduated from Russellville High School in 1967 and Arkansas Polytechnic College in 1971. He was a retired Shift Foreman with Texas Utilities / Luminant Energy, retiring in 2005 after 27 years of service. He was an avid collector of baseball memorabilia and Spanish colonial artifacts. He enjoyed fishing in Canada and model trains. He was an outdoorsman and a faithful Arkansas Razorback and Texas Longhorn fan.

Survivors include his spouse, Dora DeLeon Casas of Rockdale, Texas; children Pedro Casas and wife Sharon of Port Lavaca, Texas; Jessie Casas and wife Amy of Bryan Texas; Rita Casas and fiancι Chris Wallace of Rockdale, Texas; his mother Ruth Bland of Dardanelle, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Christopher Casas and Makayla Mitchell of Rockdale, Texas; McKade and McKason Casas of Bryan, Texas; Ethan & Madilynn Casas of Port Lavaca, Texas; sisters Teresa Bland of Dardanelle; Lea Ann Woods and husband Jerry Don, of Dardanelle; sister-in-law Mary Jean Bland of Jay, New York; nieces Nikki Sandlin and husband John, and their children Jake and Rhett of London, Arkansas; Natalie Tarte and husband Christopher, and their children Hattie, Sam, and Gracie of San Antonio, Texas; Sarah Heil and husband Scott, and their son Logan of Gloucester, Massachusetts; and nephew Matthew Bland of Arlington, Virginia.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 24 at 2 PM at Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle, Arkansas. The family will receive visitors one hour before services at the Cornwell Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Russellville, Arkansas.

Mrs. Susan Bland

Mrs. Susan Bland, aged 82 of Danville died Wednesday, January 24 in her home. She was born in Perry County, but had lived in Yell County for the last 35 years. She was a member of the Danville Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Loyd Bland of Belleville, Lewis Bland of Danville, Leonard Bland of Ft. Smith; one daughter Opal Brewer of Danville; 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

GOULD - Amy F. Blankenship, 93, of Gould, Ark., born May 6, 1909 in Gravelly, Ark., the daughter of the late Arthur Aaron and Mary Jane Poda Hunt.

Mrs. Blankenship was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. She departed this life Nov. 26, 2002 in Dumas, Ark.

Visitation was held Wednesday, 7-9 p.m. in the Griffin Funeral Home Chapel. Services held Friday, Nov. 29, 2002 at 2 p.m., Landmark Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Smith followed by interment in Dark Corner Cemetery.

Ima Jean Blankenship, age 88, of Rover departed this life Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Chambers Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 28, 1926 in Briggsville, AR to the late Fred & Bertha Faye Bratten Ornsbey. She was a member of the Plainview First Assembly of God Church and loved working in the church. She was a housewife, loved her garden and making quilts for everyone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Blankenship of 63 years; parents; sister Eva Mae Dickens; and brothers, Bob, Johnny Eugene & Riley Fred Ornsbey.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, JoAnn & Dennis Gardenhire of Wonderview; Lula & Bob Fowler of Rover; sons & daughters-in-law, Bill & Kathy Blankenship of Milton, FL; RL Blankenship of Rover; Leon & Debra Blankenship of Rover; sister-in-law, Bobbie Jo Ornsbey of Rover; sisters & brother-in-law, Ruby Phillips of El Dorado; Martha & Buddy Paine of Russellville; Bonnie Stone of Rover;19 grandchildren,30 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Agness Nancy Littleton Blaylock


Agness Nancy Littleton Blaylock, 88, of Benton died Oct. 24, 2009, at Saline Memorial Hospital Hospice House in Bryant. She was born in Yell County on Aug. 27, 1921, to Raymond and Jennie Tapp Littleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Blaylock; her parents; and four sisters.

Mrs. Blaylock was a retired homemaker and attended New Summit Church of God in Benton. She loved being outdoors and anything to do with nature including gardening.

She is survived by son, Harold (Linda) Blaylock; daughter, Laverne (Archie) Malone; grandchildren, DeWayne (Karen) Blaylock, Teresa Blaylock, Lorraine (Lance) Hicks, Steve (Mary) Malone and Mike (Lisa) Malone; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-greatgrandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Moore's Chapel in Waveland with Saline Memorial Hospice Chaplin Kim Hammer officiating. Interment will follow at Moore's Chapel Cemetery. Services provided by Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton (315-4047).
