Debra Ann Sherrill, age 58, of Bluffton passed away Monday, July 9, 2012 at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock.
She was born January 15, 1954 in Eugene, Oregon to Lester D. & Alice Dale Billingsley Whala.
Survivors include husband, Gary Sherrill; children Timothy & Cindy Sherrill of Bluffton, Scott & Terri Sherrill of Dardanelle and Julie & Gerald Dunnam of Rover; parents, Lester & Alice Billingsley Whala; brother, Lester Allen Whala; sisters Kathryn & Jerry Tabor, Iva & Ed Meyers and Peggy & CL Hudson; brother-in-law, Larry Mitchell; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was July 13, 2012 at Lighthouse Christian Center in Wing.

Cliva Shewmake
Cliva Mae Shewmake, age 82, of Danville passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at her home.
She was born August 1, 1931 in Mississippi to the late Charlie & Etha Mae Posey Yarbrough and returned to Arkansas as an infant and made Arkansas her home. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Avis Clay. Her husband John Daniel Shewmake is still listed as missing in action in Vietnam.
Survivors include son & daughter-in-law John & Becky Shewmake of Danville; daughter & son-in-law Vivian Sue & Donnie Middlesworth of Oppelo; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother Charles "Sonny" & Judy Yarbrough of Lawton, OK; sisters Irene Young of Little Rock; Jean McGhee of Benton, LA; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Jake Hoyt, Joey Hoyt, Stormy Young, Shane Middlesworth, Randy Middlesworth and Gary Shewmake.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Oppelo Assembly of God Church with Rev. David Raney officiating. Burial will be at Ada Valley Cemetery in Morrilton.

Sharon Alberta Shewmake
Sharon Alberta (Simpson) Shewmake, 64, of Morrilton passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
Sharon was born in Morrilton, Arkansas on August 19, 1952 to Olen and Sherlin (McArthur) Simpson. She worked for Adams Eye Care in Morrilton for a number of years before her retirement. For several years Sharon was co-owner of J&S Pharmacy in Danville, Arkansas. She was a licensed pharmacy tech. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Morrilton where she worked with the children's choir and the Jumping 4 Jesus children's program. She had a love for all children. She worked diligently as the MDT Coordinator for Conway County making sure crimes against children were addressed. For several years she volunteered for the Conway County Christian Clinic pharmacy and in many capacities for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Conway County. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She loved all animals, especially her dog, Lucy, and her cats, Alice and Olive.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving family includes her son, Gary (Mina) Shewmake, of Danville; Grandson, Ethan Shewmake of Danville; Brother, Larry (Sarah) Simpson; Sisters, Marilyn (Joe) Green; Karen (Terry) Martin. Several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Interment was at Wolf Cemetery in Oppelo, Arkansas.

Harry Max Shinn
Harry Max Shinn, age 81, of Glen wood, formerly of Danville, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 26, 1935, in Havana, Arkansas, the son of the late Virgil Shinn and Ima Frazier Shinn.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ida (King) Shinn of Glenwood; his son, Max Shinn, II of Danville; his daughter, Andi Shinn of Glenwood; his Sandson, Aaron Shinn of Danville; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Barger Tygart of Dallas, Texas and Nell and James Mosley of AtIanta, Georgia; his brother-in- law, Dan King and wife, Dorothy of Searcy; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Always a stoic and quiet man, Max left this earth with bravery and dignity. Never wanting to be the center of attention, he requested there be no funeral or memorial service.
Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arkansas Hospice, 628 Malvern Ave., Hot Springs, Arkansas 71901.

William Shinn
William M. Shinn, 74, of Ft. Smith and formerly of Danville, died at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville Sunday. He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nannie Shinn of Ft. Smith; five sons, Vernon and Boyd of Oklahoma City, Glenn and James of California, Robert Lee Mize of Ft. Smith; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Lee Queen of Oklahoma and Mrs. Lavone Shaffer of Dallas, Tex.; one brother, Hobert Shinn of Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. Maude Wells of Belleville; 24 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Danville Free Will Baptist Church with burial at National Cemetery at Ft. Smith by Cornwell Funeral Service.

LUTHER SHOCKLEY
Ashford Luther Shockley, age 81, retired farmer of the Mt George community, died in a Danville hospital Friday morning. Mr. Shockley was a native of Sparta, Tenn., and had lived in the Dardanelle-Danville area for the past 70 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons, Alton Shockley of Danville, and Bentley Shockley of Wynona, Okla., two daughters, Mrs. Odith Gatley and Mrs. Ora Bell Shumate of Pawhuska, Okla., two brothers, Art Shockley of Norman, Okla., and Hyder Shockley of Mt. George, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Mt. George Church of Christ Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock, with Church of Christ Minister, C. V. Langford officiating. Burial was in Shepherd cemetery. Services were in charge of the Cornwell Funeral Service.
Casket Bearers were Alton Walker, Allen Walker, Dale Pennington, Albert Littleton, Alton B. Shockley, and Shockley Shumate.

Mrs. Effie Ora Shockley, age 83, of Mt. George died at the Yell County Hospital in Danville Jun 7. Mrs. Shockley was the daughter of the late Harding and Sallie Williams George and a member of the Mt. George Church of Christ.
Survivors include six sons, Gordon of Ft. Smith, Winston of Ola, Avious and George of Mt. George, Travis of Danville, Evert of Hackett; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Dacus of Dardanelle, Mrs. Tolbert Underwood of Danville and Mrs. Elmer Young of Sunnymead, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Nettie Carpenter of Clarksville; one stepbrother, Leland Williams of Havana.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) in the Mt. George Church of Christ by T.A. Oliver, Church of Christ minister. Burial will be in the Sheppard Cemetery with Cornwell Funeral Service in charge.

Francis Hiter Shockley, aged 75, of the Mt. George community died Wednesday. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Cannon Shockley; two sons, Lloyd Shockley of California and Hiter B. Shockley of Danville; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Harmon of California; a brother, Zarzuy Art Shockley of Oklahoma, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 23 at the Mt. George Church of Christ. Burial was in Shepherd Cemetery.
