William Daniel Norris

William Daniel Norris, age 85, of Dardanelle died Thursday, April 23, 2015 at Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born April 12, 1930 in Plainview to the late William Levi Norris and Ora Flo Crites Norris.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie Ann Adkison Norris; a brother, Maxie Norris; a sister, Johnnie McElroy; a grandson, Rodney Byrum and a great grandson, Faytaun Wells.

He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia Byrum and James of Russellville, Linda Young and Doyle of Dardanelle; six grandchildren, Jeffery Byrum, Dustin Byrum and Shonda Noblett of Dover, Rhonda Gaspard of Dardanelle, Crystal Wilson of Lamar, Chanda Wells of Russellville; fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; brothers, Claude, Charles and Johnny Norris all of Dardanelle, James Norris of Hot Springs; a sister, Louise Rich of Hector and a host of nieces, nephews.

Burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home and River Valley Cremations in Dardanelle.

Dorothy Northup

Dorothy Sharlene Northup, age 74 of Dardanelle, died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at home.

She was born February 13, 1936 in Van Buren County, Iowa to the late Florence Ketchum Chaplin and Oscar Ketchum.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bob Northup, who was at her side at the time of death. Several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and several nephews and nieces and a special friend, Betty Johnson. Dorothy was a member of the Troy Methodist Church in Troy, Iowa; The Crystal Cathedral Eagles Club, The Town and Country Garden Club, The Takahik Hiking Club and the Dardanelle Senior Activity Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dardanelle Senior Activity Center, 705 N. 5th Street, Dardanelle, AR 72834.

Lorena McKenzie Norton


FORT WORTH - Lorena McKenzie Norton, a retired registered nurse, died Saturday at a Fort Worth nursing home. She was 84.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle, Ark.

Cornwell Funeral Home in Dardanelle is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Norton was born in Centerville, Ark., and had lived in Fort Worth for about 30 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Crowley.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Joshua.

Survivors: Son, Philip Norton of Joshua; two brothers, Bob McKenzie and Jiggs McKenzie, both of Dardanelle; two sisters, Faye Barganier and Polly McKenzie, both of Russellville, Ark.; and two grandsons.

Survivors are a stepson, William I. Norwood of Los Alamos, N. M.: a daughter, Mrs. Fred E. Sloan of Little Hock, a grandchild and four great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Ruebel Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hilda Faye Nuckolls and three brothers, Norman, Jerry and James Nuckolls.

Survivors include his wife Donna Karen Marlar Nuckolls of Russellville; one sister, Wanda Lea Walker of Ola; sister-in-law, Carolyn Maxwell and husband Harold; nieces and nephews, Cathy Lambert, Connie Johnson and husband Bruce, Donald Walker and wife Susie, Becky Thomas and husband Johnny, Norma Jean Grace and husband Chris, Carolyn Sue Heflin and husband Troy, Doug Nuckolls, Kristie Richardson, David Maxwell and wife Penny, Cheri Stanley.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Atkins Cemetery. Visitation was held Saturday, 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Norman Edward Nuckolls, age 58, of Russellville died Wednesday, November 24, 1993 at Dardanelle. He was a native of Dardanelle, son of the late Onvy Oliver Nuckolls. He was a member of the South New Hope Church of Christ, he served his country in the Air Force and the Navy and was employed by Ladish of Russellville.

Survivors include: wife, Betty May Nuckolls of Russellville, AR; two sons, Carl Webster of Russellville and Johnny Webster of Atkins; five daughters, Bonnie Jackson, Patricia Ragsdale and Norma Nuckolls all of Dardanelle, AR, Rita Willis of Briggsville, AR and Janet Hazel of Russellville, AR; mother, Thelma Nuckolls of Dardanelle, AR; two brothers, Jerry Nuckolls and J.B. Nuckolls both of Dardanelle, AR; two sisters, Wanda Walker of Ola, AR and Hilda Fay Nuckolls of Dardanelle, AR; 14 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were November 27th at the Cornwell Funeral Chapel by Kenneth Millard. Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery.

Active ballbearers were: J.C. Nuckolls, Marshall Nuckolls, Steve Nuckolls, Darrdl Nuckolls, Jerry Reynolds and Tom King.

Onvy Oliver Nuckolls


Onvy Oliver Nuckolls, age 56, of Dardanelle, died Thursday, Jan. 21 at a Dardanelle hospital. He operated a farm and chicken ranch, he was a native of Johnson County and the son of the late John and Janie Howen Nuckolls.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Thelma Nesbitt Nuckolls; four sons, Norman, with the Air Force in Colorado, Jerry of Plainview, J. B. and James of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Walker of Centerville and Miss Hilda Nuckolls of the home; one brother, Fredrick Nuckolls of California; four sisters, Mrs. Ortha Crowe of Dardanelle, Mrs. Othel Smith of Clarksville, Mrs. Zella Hubbard and Mrs. Ethel Robinson, both of Bytheville; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a number of nephews and neices.

Funeral services were held at the Cornwell Chapel at Dardanelle Saturday by Rev. Finley, of the Assembly of God Church.

Services were in care of Cornwell Funeral Service.

Thelma Nuckolls


Mis. Thelma L. Nuckolls, age 80, of Ola, AR died Thursday at Chambers Memorial Hospital in Danville.

She was born December 29, 1915 in Charleston, AR to the late Joseph and Marcella McConskey Nesbitt. She was a member of the Oakland Heights Assembly of God Church in Russellville, a retired employee of Tyson Foods, a homemaker and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Onvy O. Nuckolls and two sons, Norman and James Nuckolls.

Survivors: two sons, J.B. Nuckolls of Atkins and Jerry Nuckolls of Ola; two daughters, Wanda Walker of Ola and Hilda Fay Nuckolls of Dardanelle; a sister, Rosa Lee McClure of Alemeda, CA; eight grandchildren, eight step- grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Services were February 17 at the Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle with Rev. Clinton Reddell. Interment was in the Hope Cemetery, Dardanelle by Cornwell Funeral Home, Dardanelle.

He was born September 22, 2008 at Russellville to Michael Tracey Nuckols and Amber Brooke Hughes. He was a member of the Dardanelle Missionary Baptist Church, a student at ABC Children's Academy. He loved playing with cars, Batman, Spiderman and watching Duck Dynasty.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Steve and Tina Nuckols; great grandparents, Walter Blair and Johnnie Hughes and Weoma Nuckols.

Survivors include his father, Michael Nuckols of Russellville; mother, Amber Cross and husband Bryan of Dardanelle; one brother, Ethan Nuckols; one sister, Brookelynn Nuckols both of Dardanelle; grandparents, Brent and Amy Hughes of Delaware; great grandparents, Gerald and Shirley Shelton of Parthenon, Marshall Nuckols of Dardanelle, Anne Blair of Centerville; aunts and uncles, Mitchell Nuckols and wife Shea of Bentonville, Matthew Nuckols and wife Tara of North Little Rock, Amanda Smith and husband Bryant of Dardanelle, Aaron Hughes of Dardanelle, Allison Hughes and Adam Hughes of Delaware and many cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services was held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 3, 2013 at the Russellville First Assembly of God Church with Bro. Daniel Conditt officiating. Visitation was held Wednesday, 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Cornwell funeral home chapel in Dardanelle. Burial will be in Brearley Cemetery in Dardanelle.

Carter's uncles will serve as his pallbearers.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Teachers and Staff at ABC Children's Academy and the Russellville Police Department.
