Arvie Dee Fisher

Arvie Dee Fisher, age 82, of Russellville, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at his home. He was born in Pottsville to Thomas William and Lura Branscum Fisher.

He was retired from Tyson Foods.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Reba Fisher; two daughters and a son-in-law, Penelope Fisher of Russellville, and Lori and Chris Kamerling of Pottsville; one brother, James Ernie Fisher of Dardanelle; and four grandchildren, Tatiana Alvarez of Russellville, Chasity Kamerling, Carter Kamerling, and Jenna Kamerling of Pottsville.

The family will conduct a memorial service at a later date.

Christine Ina Fisher

Christene Ina Fisher, 87, of Clarksville died Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Stella Manor in Russellville.

She was born Aug. 29, 1926, in Danville, daughter of the late Harvey and Leeottia Mize George, and a graduate of Danville High School. She and her late husband, Robert L. Fisher, purchased the Johnson County Graphic in 1971 prior to purchasing the Herald-Democrat which they merged with The Graphic in 1974. Her beloved column, "Chris' Corner," appeared in The Graphic for a number of years featuring tales of her travels around the world as well as goings-on close to home.

She was known as an avid runner, having won her age division in the Johnson County Peach Festival 4-Mile Race on three occasions, member of First Baplist Church of Clarksville, the American Business Women's Association, and Arkansas Press Women's Association, and recipient of the Arkansas Press Association's Golden 50 Award, former member of the Johnson County Health Foundation Board and an officer on the Clarksville-Johnson County Regional Chamber of Commerce Board.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Murlene F. George and Earnestene L. George; two brothers, Tommy Lee George and Chestene H. George; one nephew, Carroll Ray George; and one stepson, Bobby Fisher.

Survivors include one sister, Margaret J. Wylie and husband. Ronald M. Wylie, of Clarksville; one brother, Harvey E. George and wife, Sue George, of Alma; one stepson, David Fisher and wife, Mary Fisher, of Danville; one stepdaughter-in-law, Nina Fisher of Russellville; step-grandchildren, Davy Fisher of Rogers, and Tamara Morris, Teresa Ausborn and Chris Fisher, all of North Dakota; nephews, Matt Wylie of Clarksville and Christopher George of Fort Smith; niece, Marcia Fletcher of Fort Smith; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at the First Baptist Church in Clarksville with Rev. Howard Wheeler officiating.

Burial was in Oakland Cemetery under the direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be made to the Robert and Christene Fisher Endowment at the Johnson County Community Foundation, 1010 West Main Street, Suite 1, Clarksville, AR 72830.

Daniel Lee Fisher

Daniel Lee Fisher born on February 9, 1993, in Danville, Arkansas to Billy Wayne & Tammie Denise Miller Fisher. In the early morning hours of July 16, 2016, Daniel walked into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 23. He was a 2011 Danville High School graduate. Daniel worked in construction as a brick mason. He could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He worked hard and loved even harder giving all of himself in life. Daniel touched so many lives in his short 23 years. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Alma Fisher; grandfathers, Wesley Ruben Miller; Paul Curtis; uncles, Johnny Miller; Darrel Evans; cousin, Sean Wesley Miller.

Funeral services were held 10 am Friday, July 22, 2016 at Bluffton Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Shaddon. Visitation was held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, July 21, at the funeral home. Burial was at Bluffton Cemetery.

Mrs. Ethel Fisher

Mrs. Ethel Fisher, age 78 of Plainview, died February 26 at the Yell County Hospital. The wife of the late R. H. Fisher, she was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Nancy E. Merriot Luker.

She is survived by two sons, Harold Fisher of Dardanelle and Paul Fisher; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Eden of Plainview and Mrs. Jean Chism of Ola; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at the New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Hulon Wiser officiating. Interment was in the New Bethel Cemetery.

Services were in care of Cornwell Funeral Service.

Mrs. Mable Mae Stanley Fisher, 88, of 7012 Morgan Drive, died Monday. She was a member of Brookwood First Baptist Church and the widow of James Walter Fisher.

Survivors are three sons, James L. Fisher of Memphis, George H. Fisher of Little Rock and Lindel Fisher of Dallas; two daughters, Vivian Fisher and Mary Ann Tucker of Little Rock; two brothers, George Stanley of Conway and Lawrence Stanley of Carlisle, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Richard H. Fisher

Richard Harry (Dick) Fisher, age 82, of Plainview, died Tuesday morning, July 23, at the new Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Fisher was a native of Van Buren. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Allen Fisher, and was a retired heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ethel Luker Fisher; two sons, Harold of Dardanelle, and Paul of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Jane Eden of Plainivew and Mrs. Jean Chism of Ola; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the New Bethel Baptist Church Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Allen McCurry, and the Rev. Bill Hodges officiating. Interment was at the New Bethel Cemetery.

Arrangements and services were in care of the Cornwell Funeral Service.

Ward F. Fisher, 75, of Oklahoma City died June 17 at his home. He was a native of McAlester, Okla. and had lived at Oklahoma City since 1929. He was a retired carpenter and building contractor, a veteran of World War I, a Presbyterian and a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Yvonne Fisher; three sons, Robert L. of Danville, Keith of Tulsa, Okla., and Dick of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Roe of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Harold of Tulsa and Ray of Houston, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Townsend of Rome, Ga.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Windsor Hills Baptist Church in Oklahoma City by Rev. Marion Beene, pastor, assisted by Rev. Dick Fisher.

Burial was in Wheatland [Pleasant Valley Cemetery], southwest of Oklahoma City.

She was born January 11, 1992, in Russellville, Arkansas to Shelly Jean Robinson. She was a 2010 graduate of Ola High School. She worked at Deltic Timber Corporation as a log scale operator. Emily loved to cook, crochet and ride her horse "Cleat". She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Nolan & Betty Morris and grandmother-in-law, Sally Holmes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mable; brothers, Floyd, Jim, Arie, and Earl.

Survivors include his brother, True Fitch of Bryant Cove; and several nephews and niece.

Graveside service was held at 10 am Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Aunt Dilly Cemetery in Casa with Bro. Cleo Young officiating.

Robert Fitzgerald

Robert Earl Fitzgerald, 21, in the U. S. Navy, was killed in a car accident in Sonoma, Calif., on Sept. 24. He was visiting his sister, Mrs. Boyce Bush while on leave from Treasure Island, San Francisco.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald of San Diego, Calif.; two sons, Robert Jr. and Terry, both of the home; his parents, Boyce Fitzgerald and Clarice McElduff, both of Louisiana; foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Blackwell of Danville; three sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services and burial were Sept. 29 in Sonoma.
