Stanley Denton

Stanley "Shaky" Denton, age 60, of Mt. George passed away December 16, 2018 at National Park Medical Center. He was born May 26, 1958 at Mt. View, MO to the late Harold and Yvonne Denton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Virginia Sallee of Eminence, MO and Patty Greathouse of Vanburan, MO.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Barbara Denton of Mt. George; daughter, Angela Middleton and husband Brandon of Danville; son, James "Bubba" Denton of Mt. George; grandchildren, Zachery Lee, Cody Davenport, Hunter Davenport, Kylee Denton, Sadee Denton, Kaylee Middleton, Kaden Middleton; one great grandson, Kolton Lee and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M.. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Cornwell Chapel in Dardanelle. Visitation will be held Wednesday, 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Cornwell Chapel. Burial will be in Mt. George Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Don Fowler, Robert Lee Fowler, Johnny Fowler, Larry Fitzgerald, Shoate Reece and Jimmy Davenport.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Zachery Lee, Cody Davenport, Hunter Davenport, Kylee Denton, Sadee Denton, Kaylee Middleton and Kaden Middleton.

Faye Derrick

Faye Derrick, 83, of Danville, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at River Valley Hospice Home in Russellville. She was born February 16, 1935 in Waveland, Arkansas to the late John and Viola Biggs.

She was a member of the Ranger Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Derrick; son, Mike Derrick; parents; sisters, Billie Brasher, Verlon Claggett, and Vonda Biggs.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Danny King of Plainview; sons and daughters-in-law, Briant "Bruno" and Karen Derrick of Heber Springs; Tony & Sherry Derrick of Danville; daughter-in-law, Dana Derrick of Plummerville; sisters, Ima Putman and Johnnie Morton; grandchildren, Nikki O'Bryant, Brett Kilgore, Ben Derrick, Hunter Derrick, Katelyn Derrick, Wesley Derrick, Heather Drilling; 6 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 9, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at the Danville First Baptist Church with Rev. Shane Chancellor officiating. Visitation will be Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. the funeral home.

Burial will be at Earl Ladd Cemetery.

Lionel Derrick


Lionel Derrick, age 82, of Danville died Saturday, August 30 at River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle. He was born September 16, 1931 in Chickalah to the late Jack and Lula Derick. He retired after 28 years from Firestone in Russellville. He was a farmer and a member of the Ranger Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Mike Derrick, brothers, Frances Derrick and a sister, Jacquetta Gaydon.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Faye Biggs Derrick of Danville; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Danny King of Plainview, 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Briant "Bruno" and Karen Derrick of Heber Springs; Tony and Sherry Derrick of Danville; daughter-in-law, Dana Derrick of Plummerville. Grandchildren, Heather and David Drilling, Nikki and James O'Bryant, Brett and Samantha Kilgore, Ben and Kayla Derrick, Hunter Derrick, Katelyn Derrick and Wesley Derrick, great-grandchildren, Morgan Dunnam, Kristin Smith, Jack Drilling, Ben Drilling, Chloe Kilgore and Bryce Kilgore; brother, Parnell Derrick of Little Rock; sisters Junella Estes of Stockton, CA; Jackie Lowe of Paris.

Services will be 10 AM Wednesday, September 3 at the First Baptist Church in Danville with Brother Earl Stapleton and Brother Clayton Sheets officiating. Burial will be in Earl Ladd Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Derrick, Hunter Derrick, Brett Kilgore, Wesley Derrick, Ronnie Putman and Danny King.

Mrs. Lula Derrick

Mrs. Lula Lee Derrick, 74, of Ranger, died at the Yell County Hospital July 31. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a long time correspondent for the Yell County Record.

Survivors include three sons, Francis and Lionel of Belleville Rt., and Harvey Parnell of Little Rock; three daughters, Mrs. Jacquetta Gaydon and Mrs. Junella Estes, both of California, and Mrs. Jacqueline Lowe of Paris; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Heffington of Texas and Mrs. Viola Britt of Sand Springs, Okla.; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral services were held at the Chickalah Church of Christ by Joe Risner, with burial in New Hope Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Dana R. Cragar Derrick of Plumerville; daughter, Heather Drilling (David) of Oppelo; parents, Lionel and Faye Derrick of Danville; brothers, Briant Derrick (Karen) of Heber Springs, and Tony Derrick (Sherry) of Danville; sister, Doris King (Danny) of Plainview; grandsons, Ben and Jack Drilling of Oppelo; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, at the Harris Chapel with Rev. Earl Stapleton officiating. Burial will be at Plummerville Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

He was born November 6, 1946 at Paris, Arkansas to the late Howard Oneil Detrick Sr. and Hazel Clark Detriek. He was a member of the Arkansas National Guard and a heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Olive Detrick; one brother, Bobby Detrick and one sister, Betty Ellis.

Survivors include one brother, Wayne Detrick of Dardanelle and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
